Sermons by the Devil (Proselytizing Halloween-Themed Book, 1904, P.W. Ziegler Co., Philadelphia)

Welcome to a spooktacular auction in plenty of time for Halloween. Up for bid is one exceedingly odd and very creepy antique book from the year 1904. It is in poor but readable condition with signs of age and wear making it look even more horrifying. Full of prohibition era propaganda, brimstone, treacle and scary illustrations by a bad artist this book also has some nice antique fonts and other nostalgic value. The best thing about these sermons is the mere act of thumbing through the pages can make party goers yearn to have fun and celebrate! This book makes a freakish addition to any library and a unique Halloween party hostess gift too. Historical and shabby - this oddity has it all including a few missing pages.

Proselytes, Come Unto the Reverend W.S. Harris!

I think he might have been settling some scores with fellow men of the cloth he deemed a little too "soft."

Need that brimstone in those sermons!
