"What the Pig Tho't of the Ghost" (circa 1907-15)

I love this for a reason I can't even place my finger on.

Well, maybe I can place my finger on it. Graphically it's very pleasing to me. For being such a busy postcard, all the elements are very well-placed. And the colors are pretty jazzy, snappy. The handling of the pig is pretty great, as humorous effects go.

It's dated to the "divided back era" for postcards.

I have no idea how that pig got that jack-o'-lantern head down off that ghost/scarecrow. He must be Superpig. I think flying had to be involved.
