"Noritake Green mark Halloween Black Cat cookie or candy plate. The plate is a orange lusterware trimmed green and yellow. The plate is 9 inches wide and the cat is 4 inches high. The plate has a few scratches, but no chips or repairs. There is a gold band on the edge but it is worn. As you can see by the photo, the cat is winking with one eye open and one eye closed."
Love this.
I often find vintage and antique Noritake hand-painted plates, ewers, etc. in the thrift stores.
The level of production must have been amazingly high in the early to mid-twentieth century!
I mean since I still find so much of this stuff.
Never was so lucky as to find a piece as whimsical as this though.
