Antique Coffin Plate~Post Mortem 1800s Isaac Monk~1 Of 2 Same Family~Halloween
Very nice antique coffin plates. These were placed on the casket and then removed before burial as a commemorative for the family. This was purchased at Brimfield (huge Mass antique show)and is one of 2 from the same family. Measures 7" X 4" and in very good condition. Very slight dip in the metal but hardly noticeable. Isaac Monk, aged 73 years, 10 months & 23 days. I think that's correct. Would make for great Halloween decoration.
These creep me out.
I don't think I'd bring them inside the house.
They might come with people still attached to their names.
